NOW WHAT?
You will be getting a call from Javin to follow up with details on final price, shipping, etc. Here are a few things you can get started on before our call with you!
1. Pickup and Delivery
How will you get the puppy home? Here are your options...
Local Pickup
You can pick up your puppy at our place on any day except Sunday. Any puppies picked up in Illinois are subject to 6.25% state sales tax. If you are coming from the states east of us we can meet you in Terre Haute or Vincennes, Indiana for $85. Puppies delivered outside Illinois are not subject to state tax. If you live in Illinois you are required to pay state tax regardless of where the puppy is picked up/delivered.
Ground Delivery
We have several ground shipping options available. We can (in most situations) deliver directly to your home for $1.50 per mile. We would be happy to discuss the options with you and help you decide what option is the best for you. Any puppies picked up or delivered in Illinois are subject to 6.25% state sales tax.
Flight Nanny
Our Flight nanny personally carries your puppy from the Indianapolis, IN airport to the closest major airport near you. The price is $375 (This includes the $125 pet fee that airlines charge) plus the price of the airline ticket. The nanny carries the puppy with her in a breathable, soft travel carrier in cabin with her, the whole time. The puppy has treats, a chance to go the bathroom along the way, and lots of love and snuggles from her as they travel. We book all the flights for you.
Airport Pickup
If you want to fly the puppy yourself we can meet you at the Indianapolis Airport for $175 within business hours. You will then be responsible to purchase your own airline tickets.
2. Puppy Food
What Food Should You Feed Your Puppy?
Choosing the right food to feed your new puppy is crucial to their overall health and well-being and something that should be done with careful thought and consideration.

3. Vet Appointment
Do you have a Veterinary you plan to work with?
We ask that you take your puppy to your vet within 72 hours after they come home. Now is a good time to do research and figure out which vet you will work with. After you know when the puppy will come home your next step will be to get an appointment that is within 72 hours after delivery/pickup. In some areas local vets may be booked out several weeks so it's important to be thinking ahead here!
There will be a Health Record in the paperwork that comes with your puppy. Make sure you take this with you to your vet. This will show your vet all the shots and vaccinations that your puppy has had, and he will be able to get you on the right schedule to finish out your puppy's shots.
Please note that puppies may pick up common parasites, such as giardia, coccidia, roundworm, etc. We actively work on preventing and eliminating these parasites by putting dogs and pups on a strict deworming program. However, mother dogs tend to be more vulnerable to parasites when they have puppies, and may pass parasites along to the pups. Depending on the life cycle of the particular parasite, it is possible that a few pups will go home with one. We ask that you have your puppy checked by a vet within 72 hours of taking them home. In this checkup please make sure the vet checks for parasites. If for any reason your puppy does not check through clear and needs some sort of treatment or medication, we will reimburse you 100% for that cost. But only if you take your puppy to a Licensed Veterinary within 72 hours.

4. Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee
You will be signing a Purchase Agreement form when you get your puppy. If you want to read that now, you can do so by clicking the button below.
5. Final Payments
How to pay the balance on your new puppy.
After shipping for your puppy is concluded we will be sending you the invoice for the balance due on your puppy. Balance payments can be made with Bank Transfer, Cash, Check, or PayPal/Credit Card. (The best option is bank transfer. You will receive an email with your invoice, and the bank transfer is easily done through a link in the invoice. There is no fee on your end) Balance payments that are paid with PayPal or Credit Card will be subject to a 3% processing fee.
The balance must be paid in full at least one week before the puppy goes home unless you are paying with cash at pickup/delivery.
6. Training
Do you have a plan for training your puppy?
Online Training
As important as the first 8 weeks are in a puppy's development, most of a puppy's training, and socialization happens after they leave us...when they go home with you! The task of training a puppy can be an overwhelming thought to some people, especially when this is your first puppy, or it has been several years since you have had a puppy. Walnut Valley Puppies has proudly partnered with Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp for all our board and train needs!
Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp will pick up your puppy from us at 8 weeks of age and continue training
anywhere from 4-16 weeks, depending on the program you choose! They offer 10% off most training
packages! (just mention Walnut Valley Puppies when applying for training)
Milo’s Puppy Boot Camp focuses on crate training, leash work, basic commands, potty training,
socialization, and more! This is an extremely popular avenue for families who are traveling at the time of
pick-up or would just like to have their puppy professionally trained. Milo’s will also arrange
transportation to you after training.
